I know this article is bit too late but I’m writing this down as a record.
On this day, we made Valentine’s cards for the upcoming Valentine’s Day. I’m sure we, Japanese people, don’t have the custom of making Valentine’s cards, but it’s very common in the U.S. Valentine’s Day is a day for everyone—not just for girls. Men and women, boys and girls, everyone makes and gives Valentine’s cards. They even do it at school. At the school I attended, it was homework to write a Valentine’s card for every classmate the day before Valentine’s Day.
Anyway, we made our Valentine’s cards—and look at how beautifully they turned out! We all made them for someone important to us. My son, in fact, made his card for his dad to show his love and gratitude.

I think it’s great that we have a day to show our love for someone we care about. I hope this Valentine’s card becomes widely known in Japan as well.
